A Tradition of Philanthropy for Our Schools

Munster Education Foundation (MEF) is a nonprofit organization that raises funds to enrich learning throughout the School Town of Munster.

Since 1992, when the foundation was established, MEF has awarded more than $500,000 in grants to teachers, administrators, parents, and community members throughout all five Munster schools. These grants fund innovative learning experiences and advanced tools beyond what the school budget can support.

MEF is a member of the Indiana Association of Public Education Foundations.

Governance

Since 1992, members of the Munster community have led fundraising efforts for Munster Education Foundation (MEF) grants that meet school needs in a variety of ways.

The MEF board oversees the activities of the foundation, reviewing every grant application and meeting with School Town of Munster representatives to assess the school district’s needs, now and in the future. The board also solicits support from companies and organizations throughout the community to ensure Munster schools remain among the best in the state.

MEF board members serve three-year terms that may be renewed. Our board consists of community members who are dedicated to maintaining the strength of our schools and the strength of our community. We are volunteer community members who are connected to the district as alumni, current or past parents, and business leaders who care about the quality of education our schools provide.
