Do you love decorating for the holidays? Participate in our sixth-annual Holiday Lights house decorating contest in December 2025! It's a great opportunity to get into the holiday spirit and engage in some friendly competition in your neighborhood and town, all while benefiting local schools.

Here's how to join the fun

Register Your House or Block
Cost per entry: $15 for a single home entry and $50 for block party registration.  Registration ends Nov. 26. Contest starts Dec. 5.

Take a Ride to View the Holiday Lights
Ride a fun, festive bus or trolley around Munster and view the beautifully decorated homes participating in the Holiday Lights contest!

Private trolley rides take place Friday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Holiday bus rides take place Saturday, Dec. 6, at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Festive bus rides are $15 a person, and 34-seat private trolleys are available for $750. Every rider will receive a pair of 3-D glasses and a sweet treat.

Each decorated home in our Merry & Bright Holiday Lights Contest is collecting votes to win our competition, with the proceeds benefiting Munster schools.

By making a donation to MEF, you can download a map of all the homes participating in the Holiday Lights contest. The map also includes an easy-to-use link to Google maps so you won't have to enter each home's address individually.
